A Parenting Agreement (or Parenting Plan) is a written arrangement between parents after separation or divorce that sets out parenting responsibilities and care arrangements for children. Its purpose is to ensure decisions are made in the best interests of the child, which is the paramount consideration under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth).

While a Parenting Plan itself may not always be legally binding, parents can file it with the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia as Consent Orders, giving the agreement full legal effect.
